Prospectus: A Literary Offering Prospectus Logo
Who needs another literary magazine?

They are as numerous as the waves hitting the beach. But as any surfer can tell you, there is a perfect wave—a phenomenon that is discovered only with watchfulness.

Discovering, bringing new poets from obscurity, is why Prospectus exists. The term Prospectus comes from Latin, meaning to look ahead or foresee. We seek the work of previously unpublished, yet promising poets and present it with taste and dignity to an enlightened audience. Our magazine is published quarterly.

If you are an unpublished or little-published poet and you feel that you have honed and perfected your craft, we invite you to submit your best poems for consideration. We also publish short prose pieces as well as fine-art images.

If you are a reader of poetry hoping to be among the first to discover a new voice, we encourage you to subscribe. Annual subscriptions are $10. We are on our own. So it is only through sales and subscriptions that we can help new poets be heard.

A poem should not mean / But be.
